Office Storage Solutions (OSS) recently completed a large mobile shelving project for one of the world’s largest corporations, at their new, purpose-built offices in Kuwait. It involved installing three Mobile Storage systems, which together provide more than 1,200 linear metres of state-of-the-art mobile storage.

Delivering the goods

The components for the Kuwait installation were packed into containers in the UK and sent to Kuwait City by sea. OSS managed the shipment from start to finish, including the complex documentation and import declarations on arrival at the port.

Installing the solution

A team of experienced OSS fitters was flown out to install the systems. They completed the task within the agreed two-week window, which was quite an achievement when you consider the installation provides over 1,200 linear metres of storage.

Unlike many of their competitors in this niche yet extremely competitive office storage market sector, OSS can provide a total solution. “Even though our high quality systems don’t require much in the way of maintenance, wear and tear is an inescapable fact of life,” continues Phil.

“In the UK and throughout the rest of Europe, our own service teams maintain client systems. In Kuwait, that was impractical. So we trained the client’s on-site team and saw to it that they had all the spares they would need for the foreseeable future.”

Following on from the successful installation of the mobile storage system at the new Sony Television facility in Turkmenistan, OSS were again contracted in to design, build, and oversee the installation of an even bigger roller rack storage system at the newly built and very impressive TV tower in Ashgabat.

The mobile storage system, which was built by OSS in the UK before being transported to site for assembly and installation, was specifically designed for the housing of tapes and discs used at the television centre. The system provides for an impressive 7,500 metres of storage space in over 1,100 storage bays, providing the staff with a space-saving yet easily accessible system to manage their media.

The entire project took just 5 weeks to complete, during which time OSS flew engineers to the site to work with local engineers to carry out the successful installation on time and on budget.
